I've Got An Idea!!!

I was sitting here looking over some New Years Eve fireworks when I started thinking about the J.A.T.O. effect on heavy Military aircraft . For the small handful here that don't know, J.A.T.O. stands for:

Jet
Assisted
Take
Off

If I were to take two small bottle rockets (minus the stick stabalizer of course), then mount and balance them onto the fuselage of my Kamdax Mig-15, Do you think it would take off the runway quicker with the landing gear attached and reach its maximum speed faster?

Do you all think this would work? [X(]

i will use some electrical ignited Estes Rockets motor..

more sure, not so expensive and you can choose between sizes and thrust...

for sure the kamdax will FLY :D with the right motors...

And let's not forget that bottle rockets EXPLODE at the end of their very short lived lives!!

Someone in another forum suggested the following

I have heard of modelers who used JetX type model jet engines for JATO type applications. This is a metal jet engine which is re-usable. Also, C02 engines are alot safer.

This sounds like the best idea so far, what do you guys think of this

I'm a Jetex nut!
It will work, but even with the most modern jetex equipment, jetex is still finicky and unreliable.
Get the Rapier solid fuel disposeable motors, they are what all the jetex nuts are using instead of regular jetex motors.
Estes motors give a lot of thrust VERY fast for a very short time, things will happen very, very fast after you ignite one.

Sams UK sells the rapier motors, go for it.
