Composite Bobcat CG batteries???
Hey all,
I'm putting a Bobcat together for a friend of mine. He is going to be running a P-70 with two Duralite 4000 packs for radio and ECU. Where should the batteries go, if your running a P-70 to get the CG right? BVM shows the location if you run a light weight motor, but is a P-70 considered to be light weight? Thanks Dan |
RE: Composite Bobcat CG batteries???
I think the best thing to do with your BobCat is to install everything in the plane, fill the UAT, lower the gear and then start CG'ing by moving the batteries around as needed. Be sure to put the canopy in place
I put a #2 button head screw in bottom of each boom where the CG is located. The holes are already there. |
RE: Composite Bobcat CG batteries???
Thanks, but I was trying to avoid doing that.
I always seem to put something else where the battery needs to go. Sometimes it requires changing everything. I was just hoping to find someone that has the same setup, so I could avoid potential guesswork. Dan |
RE: Composite Bobcat CG batteries???
My P-60 powered Bobkitty has both Duralites back between the main tanks and flys perfect. Just got done building a P-70 powered Bobkitty and to get the CG the same I had to put one Duralite between the main tanks and one just forward of the UAT. There is one other differencethough, P-60 one has the stock full glass cockpit, the P-70 one has the cockpit kit and pilot.

RE: Composite Bobcat CG batteries???
I have a P-60 on my Composite Bobcat adn my ECU battery is behind the main wing tube spar and my two 1400 mah nicad 6v batteries are just in front of the fuel tanks. I love the cg at these locations.

ORIGINAL: clguru I was just hoping to find someone that has the same setup, so I could avoid potential guesswork. Dan Even if you find someone with the exact setup as yours chances are you will still have to move things around a bit to get the CG right. When you talk about same setup, you have to take into account servos used, building technique, paint, stock canopy or cockpit kit. Some people can build light and some build heavy. |
RE: Composite Bobcat CG batteries???
This plane is completely stock!
standard canopy All recommended servos It's an ARF so I can't see there being a chance for building it heavy or light. I just need to know the general location for the bats. The only variable is engine weight, and I'm using a Jetcat P-70 Dan |
