RE: Attack of the CLONES!

I have a "Reaper" that came out of the AMD factory(at least the fuel tank was marked "AMD", and it differed pretty substantially from the Mick Reeves one, especially in that it has a glass fuse. Pretty dramatic change from a wood one.
They ended up changing the design around a bit and selling it as the "Draco".

Yeah, sure. Now go make 72 of them. And box them up and sell them. Apples and oranges.
It's easy enough to splash a couple of parts off an original. Has nothing to do with actual production, where they are making professional plugs and a half-dozen production molds so they can actually set up a production line. So what does your bobcat clone have to do with this?

This is a beeeeeg factory that churns out many arves, you can see their products all over the place.

That would be illegal, all I'm saying is it surprises me you don't see more of this cloning going on, not surprised at all to see another site doing it. I know that the Comp Arf Euro has been splashed and remanufactured under at least four different companies all selling basically the same airplane with some minor changes.

I just got a Yellow Twin 18 the other day, and noticed on this site that somoene's already cloned it.

I think learning to work with all the stuff involved in molding and making your own is a fun part of the hobby often underexplored.

Nope! The first YA A-4 (and F-4) were copies of the JHH designs, except they had presheeted foam wings. The newer versions have different intakes and have deviated to a fairly "different animal". Bob Violett designed the first A-4. Sold it to JHH.

You guy's are missing the point......they just wanted to show off the fact that they can make BLUE tires. (check out the A-4)

Totally sexy! They would not dare make purple ones, though!

HEY SEAN, which mold making methid did you opt for on that "CLONE" HAHA. I am going to start a AD-Size F-16 and am unsure which one to use. Sand or epoxy. My buddy KIM (Jetmax) uses the epoxy and glass method. It seems as though the sand would be heavier, but easier. Thanks, Nick

Don Kanak helped fund a clone, and Modelbau did one. I forgot the name of one company that did a splash of the Euro.

Anyway, none of them had pink wheels that I know of.

RE: Attack of the CLONES!

I used Ultra Cal 30, I've done resin and sand, Ultra cal 30 is by far the easiest, but the molds on the F-16 would weigh about 200 lbs, and that's no joke, my bobcat clone molds weigh about 50 lbs each half. It's basically concrete. This is the first time I've used the stuff, if I was gonna do it again on a fuse, I would have chaanged the way I plugged the original. But the output is sound.

Ben, from what I understand it's been leaked what I was doing so many times before I posted it in another thread that it didn't matter.

I don't think I'm on the list anymore for the ultra bandit though ;)

RE: Attack of the CLONES!

I own around 15 grand of violett's stuff, an airplane he doesn't make or support anymore for me personally to fly ain't gonna hurt anybody. So up in arms violett fans, I don't think that's gonna happen.
