Help with Scale Control Surface Hinging

I'm working on my F-86 and want to use "scale" control surface hinging. I'm using Robart hinges.

I've used the 1/64" ply method on the trailing edge and really didn't like it.

So, the other method I've seen is uses a concave cavity on the trailing edge of the wing and a convex surface on the leading edge of the aileron. How do you put the concave surface in the balsa of trailing edge of the wing with any accuracy over that long length?

Thanks

Help with Scale Control Surface Hinging

Ive been putting the concave tail plane trailing edges on a Bandit tonight and they sugest the use of various sized dowels ( I used 3/16 to 3/14 inch ones) wraped in sand paper and it does produce a realy neat job if you use your thumb and finger to keep it central.

Nick,
I just glue some triangle stock on the back of a flat back trailing edge. Then I also use sandpaper on dowels to finish the final concave shape. The triangle stock reduces the amount of balsa you have to remove.
Of course you then just round off the leading edge of the control surface.

PS: I'll bet we could get Steve to plow the snow off the runway for some winter flying up at ashtabula this weekend. My P-80 has always started clean in this colder weather.
