Smoke on DF

I have never seen a DF with a smoke system. Has anyone done that? What gear do you use? How well does it work? What plane was it on?

Thanks

Harry Woods had a smoker on his BYron F-16 way back in hte early 80s. Worked well.

I wouldn't put a smoke system on a D/F, by using an inflight mixture control it leave a smoke trail enyway.
That's if you want your eng. to last longer.

It's been done many times. Basicly you have a tank for the smoke oil, a smoke pump and a brass tube wrapped around the header section of the pipe to preheat the oil (very important for a df smoke system) and a standard header bolted to the engine with a nipple that has an injector on it.( the nipple/injector is a fuel nipple used to connect fuel tube and pump to standard 1 gallon fuel bottles, going through the header and a tiny vertical slit facing away from the headerand a blob of solder on the end).
