will this idea work?

I have been messing around trying to make a kind of ramjet that will run without moving. I know this isnt a true ramjet but here it is. I made a system with a electric ducted fan in the front. I then drilled 3 holes just in front of the fans and hooked up 3 fuel intakes connected to a carboraterthen the fuel tank. when i get the fan going it sucks fuel up the lines from suction and i can make the carb works good and i can control excactly how much fuel goes in, i can make it to the point where i put my hand in the back and its soaked, or i can make it an extremely light mist . What i am wondering is how i can get it lit. And will a mist of fuel light up or am i just wasting my time. last questian, what kind of fuel should i use? right now i am just using water to get a reliable constant mist of fluid and i have it right on now. Thanks

I would use 92 octane gasoline and a bic lighter to ignite the air fuel mixture.

thanks for the link, would 92 octane fuel light quick enough? it seems like regular gasoline wouldnt stay lit very well, but i could be very wrong. i was thinking about just using 35 percent nitro fuel. a zippo seems like a good idea to light it, but worried bout blowing myself up :) . thanks for all the help!

get rid of all that liquid fuel and use Propane. Once you get that to work then go to the gas.

I have build a number of combustion chambers with alpo cans and electric blowers and propane..Great fun

i was acually trying to stay away from propane (seems like a lot of hassle and expense). But if i cant get liquid to work i will try propane. Eventually i want to make one for rc, this one is just to learn the basics. thanks for your help and suggestions!

This guy might be interested in it as a next research project.
You and him should get together and compare notes.

Sadly, I am unable to find the video at the moment. I was able to locate the construction article which has pics of the jet running.

There are three pages all together.
