Yellow f-18 single
Hi guys,
bought a f-18 single df already built, by someone, not sure who, the ailerons are the full length of the wing, and someone said you can't have this, but i'm just wondering if you can't set them up as flaperons with my computer radio and if so would you set it up using the flap dial or airbrake switch they will both do the same thing. If so what is recomeded for take off and landing. I know what it says in the book for ail/flap throws but nothing in the book on flaperons. |
RE: Yellow f-18 single
I had one and it was built/setup per manual.I have seen where a few guys mentioned the single takeoffs are much better/smoother with 20 degrees or so of flap.As a option you can also do away with the ailerons & flaps all together and fly your single on just tailerons.A guy here locally had a single with just tailerons and it flew great! You mentioned yours is DF .With that in mind you would benefit slightly with the weigh savings of no wing control surfaces. If you were to go the taileron route make sure you use high quality /high torque servos(High end digitals would be your best bet )
I dont know how the single would do on Flaperons programed in,Surely someone here will chime in with some exprience there Just some thoughts Steve |
