Im also interested in building a Harrier. Im currently up at MCAS Cherry Point flying these aircraft, and am planning on visiting the boeing rep to see what I could get form them. Also there is a Harrier pilot in our club who has a beautiful set of plans that includes all the formers, ribs, spars etc. However he is currently en-route to the desert so I wont be able to get them any time soon. I plan to build a STOL (short take-off/landing) instead of a true V/STOL version. The pilot I mentioned had built one that had full ducting for vertical flight, but the ducted fan powerplant was grossly underpowered, and he miscalculated the CG which led to a interesting but short flight. If you plan on trying one that will hover you will most likely need a turbine powerplant to generate the massive amount of thrust needed.

i'm not building a harrier right now but i do have experience in VTOL planes.

If anyone is planning/wanting to build a harrier then this site might be very useful for starters

Also i think the best thing to recommended is build a testbed first, dont go jumping straight into a harrier, build something like the guy with the jet VTOL has done, it'll make things easier for you at the end of the day.
