Skymaster Retrats Problems
 

Hi friends::)

I have a little problem with my Skymaster retrats, the last weekend I fly my Hotspot in the last landing I broke the retrats, the nose gear and main gear. I need the followed items. I show the Skymaster retrat for know.

Somebody know where I can buy it?

Sorry, we don't and never sale this type of retracts in America market. We unable to help you for this. We only use Robart retract.

Hola Carlos, this problem often happens in any gear brand, while using a landing gear leg
without horizontal impact absortion, like most telescopic gear legs are.. I got rid of this problem when I installed some rubber strips between the retract and fuselage mount on the models. Now the gear is not absolutely rigid in the fuselage, but it has some horizontal absortion.. (about 1 inch when the wheel is pulled aft hard).. the amount of play is set by tightening the gear mount screws. Also trying to land (or hit the ground, lol) with the plane´s nose as high as possible, helps to minimize gear damage.

Another good option is using a fork type leg, like the Eurokit or Behotec.. they allow dozens of flights without needing to do any repair work in the gear.

About the repair, perhaps a local machinist would be the quickest solution.. (making the piece on a stronger material)

24 $ each unit.

The trunion you purchased will not work in the Airpower retract unit. These retracts are machined in metric dimensions, the Sierra trunions are SAE... Need to contact Airpower for replacement parts!
Your wasting your money with the Sierra trunion...

Sierra heavy duty trunions can easily be made to fit Skymaster retracts. All you have to do is open up the hole in the trunnion slightly & file the yoke opening a little.
I use them in My F15 & they never open or break, despite some heavy landings.

O.K. you have right. The measures in the Robart is in inches and in Skymaster is Metric.

I must drill to 8 mm.

I believe you will need to shave the width of the trunion down to fit in the frames and file the fingers as well, again due to SAE sizing. Easy fixes if you have the machinery to do it precisely. Good luck...
