Hi Guy's

Having some troubles with a Range Check was looking for some help with Antenna locations.

The Fuselage has more Carbon Fiber in it then anything we are all used to. I am now isolating the individual servos to see if there is a noisy one.

I'm using dual Futuba 1024 receiver's and routing the antennas in small tubing inside the Fuselage. But my Range checks with the 14MZ Transmitter is only 25 feet no Transmitter Antenna or 50 feet with the Antenna mounted in the Transmitter but not raised.

I want to know if anyone has solved this problem by using either a base loaded Revolution or Whip style.

Which airplane is this in? What are the 2 sets white boxes?

A whip antenna will lift you reception away from all the interference in the fuselage which has several wires running in the same horozontal plane. It is never a good idea to run your receiver aerial in a straight line.

Do a range check for each receiver... without anything else.. just a battery and servo or two to find the Baseline stripped range of the receivers themselves. You should get about 200 paces or 600 feet, with the transmitter antenna mounted and collapsed (7 inches). Receiver antenna's up off the ground about 3 feet. If your range is in the ballpark you then can bring in other components of your setup one at a time to find what is killing your range.
Example start with your carbon fiber mount.. see which device is causing your really bad range check. If your stripped Baseline is not at least 500 feet (166 paces) get the receiver's and or your transmitter module tuned an aligned. Keep in mind a weak transmitter module is possible. Ooops almost forgot you do have the transmitter modulation (page 27 14MZ manual) set properly to transmit to your PCM1024 receiver?

the carbon fuselage may be a problem..
the whip antenna placed where there is NO carbon, should help with the range check

It turns out that the problem is actually the Carbon Fiber Weave in the Entire Fuselage.

If I have the Futuba 1024 Antenna straight up away from the Carbon Weave the Range check is now OK.

I can route the Antenna wires externally or possibly use one of the Revolution Whip Antenna.
