How much thrust does the .45 engine put out

I was wondering because I wanted to purchase the simjet 700 (7lbs of thrust) and needed to know how big of a jet I can get. I hear this turbine would be great for the .45 jets. Is 7lbs of thrust what the .45's put out? :stupid:

Thanks for the help,

.45 engine thrust

David,

The .45-.48 ducted fan engines produce between 6 and 9 lbs. of thrust depending upon engine size (rpm) and inlet efficiency. The SimJet700 should be an excellent match for any of our kits with the exception of the F-4 and the F-15 (unless you use two of them). The original GWM FD3/67 turbine produced 8# of thrust and flew our Cougar around at 160 mph (max gross takeoff weight was 14.5# and the airplane climbed out at about 30 degrees); the A-7 lfew about 180 mph. The installed weight of the SimJet 700 should be about the same as a .45 size ducted fan set-up; fuel consumption is much less on the SimJet than it was on the GWM. We will be selling the SmiJet700 when it becomes available.
