Flap programming the JR 8103
 

I'm trying to prgram the 3 position switch for flaps on an Aggressor. I'd like to mix down elevator with flaps using the 3 position switch but I'm frying my brain with this programming. Has anybody been down this road before? A lil help will be much appreciated.

I was the only one to do this set up at Markam:D. First set the flap switch to the center then setup your flap to the first position flaps default. Next step is to set the switch to ELEV position using the mix program to trim the flaps to neutral. After setting the neutral & first position flaps now put the switch to land position and repeat the second step for full flaps.

OK. I'm with you so far. What will it take to add ELE mixing? I'm actually trying to help my buddy with landings. Although he is approaching somewhat faster than usuall or necessary, it would help his 'balooning' effect while in the traffic pattern to be able to add some down ELE.

Thats also done in the Mix program. In the mix program select flap as the master and the elev as slave. then below use the mix values to set your ELEV percentage while moving the flaps up and down.

Am I to use a program mix to make this adjustment or should it be the landing program?

The landing program cannot give you two position flaps. It is only use for throttle, Elev, Gear mix with flaps.

It would be simpler if you use the Landing Program to set full flaps instead of one of the mixes, that way all you have to do is plug in your elevator offset on the Landing screen. I had my Maverick set up similar to basimpsn with a few exceptions.

With the 3 position switch in the middle flaps were up for normal flying. For take off I used 15 deg. flaps. One of the program mixes was used, activated by the switch in the ELEV position. No elevator offset was needed with that flap setting. If you are using more than that for partial flaps and need some down elevator you could use another program mix to put in some down elevator, also activated by the ELEV position. That could be done the way basimpsn suggested or you could mix elevator to elevator and put in an offset value.

For landing I used full flaps, set to about 50 deg., using the landing program. Also the elevator offset was set to give about 1/8" of down elevator.

So for normal flying the switch was in the middle, in the ELEV position for take off, and in the LAND position for landing.
