Should be good fun. What air speeds do you anticipate/recommend on maneuver entry?

trioval00 06-15-2006 07:49 AM

RE: Up For A Challange??

bobber. As for the speeds? It is up to the pilot and his aircraft.

Mark, I am really into this kind of event. Very exciting to see some aerobatic contesting with jets. Great idea. All manuvers perform on center? I see the split ess and half cubans etc as end box manuvers, are your rules putting these on center?

RE: Up For A Challange??

Joe, I am very happy this event is being well recieved by many pilots. for the most part, the maneuvers will be show center, but there are a few that of course cannot be show center.

RE: Up For A Challange??

I recieved an e-mail the other night asking about the aircraft for this event........

For this event, ANY AIRCRAFT that is either TURBINE POWERED or DUCTED FAN. easy enough.

Just a reminder, Turbine WAIVERS - a must, and for those of you north of us, MAAC.

RE: Up For A Challange??

I am sending out flyers and a letter with updated info, ie; hotels, directions and more info about the airport.

the only addresses I have are the ones listed with JPO. AMA only lists names and the town you are in , no street address.

if you are not a memeber of JPO and would like the info mailed to you, PM me with your mailing info and I will send it asap

RE: Up For A Challange??

Unclejoe, Friday is a sanction day, no test flying during the day, in the evening i dont think there should be a problem, and the day before will also be test day, thats after all set up is done....... and have ok from airport, which they said probably won't be a problem

#6, immediatley preceding it, is 3 inside loops, and later on you also have an outside loop .. so its unlikely #7 is again vertical loops. If it's a typo, you probably meant horizontal ROLLS. I just wasn't sure if there was some new maneuver I hadn't heard about yet - e.g a knife-edge circle could concievably be called a horizontal loop etc ;-)

Good luck with the event, regardless of what you call each maneuver. My favorite maneuver name is a "humpty-bump with (rapidly diminishing) options". Describes some of my flying style to a T.

RE: Up For A Challange??

Gordon mac, are you coming to this event?

Maybe we could have "east vs west" ?????????

I'll even put up a traveling trophy, which is each year we add the winners name to the plaque and the winner keeps it for 1 year till the next event.

Can't make it this year, but I'll be watching how it turns out in case I can make it another time ... pattern with jets is a great idea for honing flying skills IMO.

RE: Up For A Challange??

How will you be determining what class someone enters ? ( also assuming you don’t know how many show up ? ) how about a 1 round “qualifier” ? set like 4 – 5 maneuvers which will be judged … based on scores from highest to lowest you can populate the 3 classes evenly … this way you prevent overzealous individuals from being in over their heads in the expert class, and give the ones who underestimate their abilities a chance to see for themselves what they got …

im planing on being there ... definately sounds interesting :)
