Put some clear fresh kerosene in a clear glass container and then your unknown sample in another. Place both in the sun for 1 hour. You will see the oil / kerosene mix turn a darker color ( straw / amber ). Clear unmixed kerosene will remain clear.

OK...here is the deal.

Have your mother-in-law drink a quart of it. Wait 30 minutes and then have her belch while you hold a match to her mouth. If the flame is blue, it is oil free. If the flame is red and gives off thick, black smoke it has oil in it and is safe for your turbine.

See, it's so simple.

Give fresh Kerosine to your wife and a glass of unknown to the mother in law wait 20 mins, then watch them carefully, when they start to run about watch and see which one seizes up and crashes use the other fluid in your tubine this contains oil.. How ever if they both stop at the same time they have run out of fuel and need a c135 to give them air to air refuelling if this cannot be called in, wait for them to crash and burn, no more problem !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The best thing is the 2x glasses kerosine and oil will go brown in sun light.
Good luck.

If I'm unsure about whether I've put in the oil, I let my buddy try my fuel. If he gets a whole flight in, it's good to go!!!:D
