Dumb question about AeroPoxy
 

I'm very happy to discover (in fact i red it here ;) ) that aeropoxy is Hysol 9462 wich is realy easy to get at a cheaper price from a Loctight dealer.

Do i realy need a gun to use it or i can use the old good wood mix stick???

You can use a mixing stick but you need the gun to get it out!!!. If I am going to use only a small amount, I will not use the nozzel, just push out a small amount and mix it with a stick. You need to be sure that both parts start to flow at the same time. Push out a bit onto some paper till they do and then put it onto the mixing tray. I guess you could push something into the back of the tube instead of using the gun but it would be messy.

also if you get the gun you can use the nozzels and apply the stuff very accuratly as advertised.

Well you can mix any epoxy with the good old Popsicle sticks, but there are times when a long nozzle is so much easier to apply a small fine bead of aeropoxy just in the right spots. The shorter nozzle is handy also in tight closer spots. My opinion is buy the gun and some nozzle's you'll find they come in handy. The most important thing I've found is planning! Plan & setup several items that need the aeropoxy and do them all at the same time. Then put the nozzle in the freezer and you can use it again several times. One long and one short was all I needed for my entire Bob Cat ---------

For the record, hysol and aeropoxy are identical. There's no reason to get ripped off by BVM and pay that rediculous price of $13+ for a tube of aeropoxy when you can buy Hysol for $5-$7

freezing nozzles
 

Hey Lee, what do you do with the glue that remains in the nozzle when you take it out of the freezer? Does it freeze? If not, are you able to use or do you just squeeze it out?

Just let it come up to room temp, and squeeze it out, you can even use that portion. Best to blend with fresh, if job is big enough. Bottom line is I was able to use the same tips for about two months using this method. With a little management you can use the tips indefinitely ---------

That is good to here, it should have been good for many hours of normal run time. It was just returned from Ram to Bud, having new bearings and specially balanced. Bud will be glad to hear the turbine is still flying aircraft. Bud had that turbine in the T-33 that he now has For Sale. Power enough for the aircraft.

On a different note if you know anyone who might want a beautiful Tom Cook T-33 ready to fly --- just add turbine let them know about this URL

Actually I think Bud still has a Jet Cat P-120 he would sell with it also --------- $5,250.00 for the aircraft ----- $2,700.00 for the P-120 the turbine has less than 2 hours total run time -----
