Simjet 1200 AES

I finally got around to starting my new 1200 AES yesterday. Not the perfect conditions - about 35 degrees - but the best I've had since I got the thing just before Christmas. I got three flawless runs on it. It started first time each time, and ran great. I have been running a Simjet for close to 3 years now - gone through all the ECU problems, etc. Their service has always been excellent. On this one, however, I don't think I will be needing their service unless I do something stupid!! The new ECU, the Flightworks pump, and new propane/fuel valves are immense improvements. I know Simjet had some problems and took some shots - but it looks like they really have things on track now. I can't wait to get this baby on my Stingray.

Hey Dagored11

Glad to hear your happy with your new 1200. It should fly your Stingray with great authority. It's been a long road, but I believe that we've turned the corner.

Enjoy,
Ed

Congratulations Dagored11,

Glad to hear the 1200 runs good.
I just bought a SJ 2300, flew it twice last sunday on the roo.
Started right up, and that roo will stand on it's tail and go straight up now. What a blast.

Working on the Trim F-86, the 2300 may wind up in that.

Have a good winter. :)

I own two of the 1200's. One is in a Y/A Starfire the other is in a the F-16. I am building a Stingray also and plan to install another 1200 in it. They are great engines. I also went through the ECU problems at the begining but Kevin and Ed took care of it and thier customer service is the best. Enjoy many flights.

Congrats Dagored!

Glad to hear you're pleased with the 1200. My SimJet S-120 Kit performed the same way... flawless from the start and you certainly can't beat the service provided by Ed and Kevin!

Looking forward to flight reports!

It is always rewarding when a customer is pleased with a product.

While SIMJET had some issues a year ago, the hard work of Kevin and Ed of Great Northern are bearing fruit.

I do not own a 1200 but had the opportunity to fly one during test flight of my FACET-1200 design. The engine belonged to Bob Boswell and we had the same experiance as you. Repeatability on the starts and sound, reliable performance.

Have fun and enjoy.
