Robart tyres - Glue needed?

I am using a Robart 2 1/4 low bounce on my F104 nose leg and lost the tyre off the rim.

Is it necessary to glue the tyres on?

If yes will cyano do the job?

Glue will help a bit no doubt.

I'd use the rubberized CA version which the car guys use religiously.

Hope this helps.

Any thin CA will do the job. Just put a couple of drops on the tire at the rim and let it run around the rim, gravity at work here. It will wick between the rubber and the rim and glue the tire on. Works on aluminum or plastic wheels, too.

I use the same tires on an SR-71 with no problems. It rotates at something over 50 mph. I'm a little surprised to hear that your tire separated from the rim. Make sure that the screws are tight that hold the rim halves together.

Glueing will certainly help, but I've never found it to be necessary.
