BVM Bobcat Questions

I am looking at the BVM Bobcat.

Can anyone tell me, what you get with kit? Looking at the BVM site it appears that you get struts, retracts and tanks. for £2699/ $5065.

So initially the price aint too bad.

Would it fly ok with a P120, even though it says a 18lb Turbine.

Regards

Peter G

P.S

Who Has stock of these at the moment in the UK. ALi, Motors and Rotors, Leavesley Aviation???

RE: BVM Bobcat Questions

Hi there: I have had my Balsa Bobcat for a few years now with over 300 flights on it. They fly great with a p70, 80 and 120. I have my P120 dialed down to about 114k rpm. they fly and land well. If you are buying the Composite one, I hear they are even better. If the price is ok for you, you can't go wrong with any bobcat.....Gordon Mc and I have had bobcats for years with great success!!!!!

RE: BVM Bobcat Questions

you get everytihng with the plane except for electronics and turbine package. All gear, valves, tanks, hardware, etc comes with the plane. For a P120 i would also opt for the larger hopper tank ( the Kevlar center hopper ) .. the clear canopy and cockpit kit add a lot to the apearence of the plane as well. The plane performs perfectly with a p120 or equivelant class engine. If you are concerned as to overspeeding it, id recomend getting the air speed sensor / limiter option from jet cat, and keeping the RPMs on the engine at max, giving you unlimited verticals, and rapid acceleration out of slow flight. Here are some videos of my BobCat which weighed in at around 25 lbs flying on a P120 both off of grass, and pavement. The red BobCat in the 3rd and 4th videos is Adil's, and at the time was powered by a p80.

this is my BobCat flying now wih a 36lbs thrust JetCentral Rhino ( structuallt modified to handle this power )

these should give you a good idea of what to expect from this plane .....

RE: BVM Bobcat Questions

Quick Bobcat question. I am ordering wing bags for my Bobcat but am several hundred miles from my plane. Can someone kindly give me the measurements of the Bobcat wings detached from the fuse? Width at both tip and fuse attach side and length would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Approximate dimensions, but close enough for wing covers.

RE: BVM Bobcat Questions

Glad to help. I already had the wing panel in cad, so it was easy to add dimensions. Good luck with the covers.
