Hi Bob,

I wonder if the Guy in Denver ever put it together? Yes, you are right Paul used the Viojett . The EVF would be a drop in and depending on finances when the time comes I would like to use it in mine. I wonder if anyone knows what happened to Paul. I sent email and PM and received no response. He also stopped posting on RC Universe some time ago.

I saw a photo of Paul a few years later at Superman. He was flying a model of private buz jet of the company he was then working for. I have a freind in St. Louis maybe he knows of Paul's where abouts.

Any idea who that could have been? I haven't heard of anyone in the area with one. I did see Col. Bob's attempt to fly at QSAA a number of years back. I think it was just too hot for that poor K&B .82 to lift it up!

One of my first experiences with Col. Thacker was watching him fool around with his BD-10. It was clear to me at the time that the inlets were too small for the fan that was installed in the model. It made a terrible 'sucking' sound. This, along with the sheer size of the beastie is probably why it was underpowered.

I used pink & blue foam (sands better) from Home Depot and glued sheets together for correct size. I used polyurethane glue and tried to keep it away from joints where my hot wire went or where I would sand.

I bought a block of white styrofoam that was 2' T X 2.5' W X 8' L from Home Depot to make a R/C boat. Go to the special services desk and you can special order it. It was around $50.00. I also use the 2" thick sheets of styrofoam house insulation that you can buy at Home Depot right there in the store (no special order). I make my Giant Delta's out of this.

Paul,
Came to our Jet meet this year. He flew his Visionaire. I talked to him about the BD10J.
He's raising his family. He does not have any plans to do kits in the future.

Last year Paul put a Wren in his BD-10 that was an old DF model. I had the privilege of getting some stick time on this little bird and all I can say is WOW what a sweet flying machine. I’ll give Paul a call and tell him about this thread I am sure he will answer any questions you would have.

Looks as if I'm going to have to scratch-build a version for the 69-mm EDF unit that I have lying around.

Is there a good 3-view that shows the bulkheads or similar cross-sections, especially the tail-end view?

I've got a set of the "Peregrine" version 3-view and that gives me my starting point, but not enough details exist so that I can design a proper set of plans.

Only alternative would be to get the Tacker plans and work his bulheads into my design.

BTW, the WREN-powered version does look good, but I burn electrons rather than kero.....

Byro - I just bought a set of B-10 plans from Flying Models and I was disappointed to find out they deviate a lot from scale in the intake area and the turtle deck near the engine exhaust. Also the entire fuselage is squared off and not as round as the pictures I have. The intake and exhaust deviation was probably necessary for a ducted fan. If I do a scratch build it will be for a turbine.

Can you tell me where to get the 3-views you have and are the stations provided?

Have to agree with you on the deathtrap Bede went to the well of inspiration-without-engineering-tests one too many times with this design. Of course, not having the best of business management skills didn't help either.

I'll scan the Peregrine plan but think that it's a match for what you have. What brain cells I have left tell me that the drawings match.
