Therefor, since we did not change the design of the engine, a simple name change was all it took

Does this mean that the T-500 will be just as hard to start as my RAM 500? I like my little RAMs when they are running, but getting them to that state is not always a lot of fun.

T-500 starting

Hi Brian,

I am happy to report that the T-series are extremely easy to start. Wait till Florida Jets, and you will see it for yourself if you are going to attend. I will let you start mine as many times as you like.

It will be very interesting at FJ to see these new turbines. Hope that they all get to fly. Thank you.

OK, you're on. Maybe I can learn something. I am really tired of the routine of several failed starts, put on the battery charger, more start attempts, put on the charger..........

Well, maybe it's not that bad, but they are hard to start most of the time. See you at FJ.

PST, are you guys going to be at the Florida Jets? Any demo to show around. Would be great to see the J600 runs if the AMA approval process is in time.

Kevin

I, my US partner Leo DeRosa and several PST customers will be in attendance at Florida Jets. We will have BobCats, AV8Rs and a BVM F86 there with PST engines. As for the AMA process.... I will say this much....it has been educational! We remain hopeful that certification will be granted mid part of next week.

Hi Guys

Well to test the strength of the J600. We at KPM installed a j600 on a AD excocet, and a P-80 on another Excocet. Well to our surprise the both of them flew extremely well all hands out to ERIC at AD JETS. These kits are good and stable. The J600 performed beautifully and was quite a performer for its tiny size. But I guess as the saying goes good things come in small packets. !

Not to forget the Awesome Power of the P 80 which speaks for itself.

Conclusion; J600 a investment worthwhile. !! Planning to order a few more !!

Cheers
Azuz

Hey guys,

What is the SFC of the 600?? what max setting are you guys running?? The website says 250ml at 160k?? that seems kind of high. What is it doing in the real world.

Thanks, Vin...

If anyone is still interested I advise that my investigation into PST and Wren MW54 certification continues and I am in correspondence with Carl Maroney of the AMA, and others, on these issues.

When it is possible I will place all of my findings in the form of the correspondence, in the public domain and then everyone can arrive at their own conclusions based on that correspondence.

After that, I will be taking no more active part in RCU's threads.

JDE 54

I have been following this thread for a while and it seams there are several misinformed individuals which has compelled me to answer.
First off how is it every one knows what was manufactured at JDE, which is really no ones business but JDE's.
Next JDE is responsible for the AMA to even accept a kit turbine working with the AMA on this for better then 1yr 8 months, also i wish to add JDE is partly responsible for the homebuilt provision as well.
At the time JDE was trying to get the AMA to approve a kit engine JDE continually had to make changes to the kit as the AMA stated they would approve of, meaning they would look at what was sent and then come back and state they would not approve it in this manner so changes to the engine kit were made until the AMA was satisfied and approved the kit turbine, now after that was accomplished by JDE the AMA came back and said that in order for the AMA to approve a kit engine the kit engine had to accompany an assembled production engine, so if you guy's look at the time frame this came about you will find that Wren did not produce an assembled engine, so Wren gave written permission for JDE to go into production of the assembled engine's and the engine became the JDE54, and in doing so JDE opened the door for all those to follow.

Ama

Hi, To answer the above post from David G. I spoke to Carl at length on the phone and I found that the reason was quite reasonable for the ram/t500 approval and found the AMA on the side of all engine manufactures evenly. Paul Pigneri

Please don't let a couple of "BAD APPLES" ruin it for everyone! I enjoy reading what David Gladwin has to say in RCJI and here at RCU.

PLEASE DON'T LEAVE US DAVID!!!!

Ahhhhh.........this is an old thread guys ( check the dates ). The PST engine as others have long since been AMA approved and all is well in the Northern Hemisphere. ;)

Hi ,
I just set up my J600 R version on my Kangaroo , I have the new TEMS ECU and had a slight problem with the start up , apparently it was a sticky fuel pump and one call to PST in thailand solved the problem , I just had to connect the fuel pump directly to the 7.2 V batt to get it going because the pump voltage from the ECU at the Idle RPM setting wasnt probably enough to free the pump , with this done and reconnected back to the ECU the turbine ran flawlessly.
