Is it possible to compete for less that 10K?
Hello
I would like to compete in scale with a model jet next year, if I'm good enough I would like to try the world jet masters. Is it possible to build a competitive plane for 10K. If so what should I build? Thanks again for all the good advice. Peter Ontario, Canada |

I think it can be done. If you got the skills to build it. You could get an older kit, detail it out and go for it. The documentation carries alot of weight. Maybe run across and older BVM F 86, or T 33. You could even go DF. I think there was a guy at the JWM in Hungary with DF. Better hurry for 07.

Rudy Caseras has a T-33 for 3400, less turbine. Get your self a P-70 and your WELL under 10K.

It's either time or money....usually a combination of both.
Either, or both, way(s)....I hope you do well. Which model are you thinking of? |

At the local level you would do fine, but I think (judging from the photos and video of the last WJM) that if might be a David and Golliath thing in the Worlds arena ....possible, but not easy..
I'd look at something that flies smoothly with predicable takeoff and landing habits I think that is where the L-39's had a definite edge last year. It is going to be tough picking out something that 6 other people don't have (like bringing a Cub to a scale contest..). Too bad the Tutors are not out yet......... |
