Fuel stopper improvement !!!!

Ive looked at all the other companies types of fuel stoppers. I came up with my own improved type of stopper. It will fit a large drobo fuel clunk and any 5mm type festo fitting. Take a look and see what you think and let me know. Paul Jacques

Looks nice and more durable. I see the brass ring but not sure how you secure the fitting to the tank?

So far as I know, that brass piece has only been available through BVM, at least so said Gary Mueller last time I spoke with him.
If you have another source and/or are milling copies, please do tell. |

they look the same that come with the ARF bandit.
you need to glue the brass inside the fuel tank. disadvantage is that the fuel cluncks have to be small causing them to "float" |

The brass ring has to be glued in the tank so it would be the best if the tank is new when installing it.Im going to drill out my king cat tanks and glue the ring on the out side of the tank.I made the ID of the brass ring .53 large enough for the large du-bro clunk to be installed.

I like the direct connection to a Festo. Wishing for just a direct brass tube to Festo 4 mm connector designed for standard stoppers (fuel hole, vent hole, with the centered socket head screw for tightening) for my large Dubros. Just another product idea! Larry. |

Jet-Tech fuel tanks can now be bought with this o-ring style fuel system as an option .So now you can get the larger clunk in your tank and have the versatility too.

Paul , I pesonally like the 2nd fitting from left. Virtually leak proof and easy to change fuel line( no EXACTO knife needed). I know the other festo style are easier to disconnect but always the possibility of not completely seating and leaking, or worse case blowing off durring refueling.I think there should be a demand for this tank fitting. Anybody out there agree? Scott

Paul the compression fitting is a great choice and I will modify my tanks to utilize the compression fitting from now on.

The brass threaded sleeve gets aeropoxied from the inside of BVM kevlar tanks. the tank stopper threads into the brass sleeve and allows easy replacement of your pickup line.

The brass sleeve I have put on the outside of the tank by mastake and it worked fine.

I've found out that a slightly over-sized brass tube fits perfectly and air-tight in the smaller (4mm) Festo fittings. I had a "standard" DUbro tank set up and have always up-sized the brass tubing for them using some K&S stuff from the hobby shop (will measure it later). The 4mmx6mm Festo went right on and pressure tested perfectly. Then you can use a standard stopper set-up. Not nearly as elegant and clean, but keeps me from having to flare the tubing and use zip ties. Easier to unhook as well.
