Florida Jet Show in Flagler

I will be in Amelia Island, FL from Feb 20 - 25 and want to drive down to see the Flordia Jet Show in Flagler. If I can only make one day of the show, should it be Fri, Sat, or Sun?

Thanks

Rub it in Todd,
today it might get up to 9 degress F.
No wonder why you guys fly so good, you have all year to practice, we have three good months of flying........................but 9 months of building!

But Chris, that's the beauty of it... it is self equilibrating! The guys in the South that get all the practice fly good and so don't need to build (or re-build) as much. The converse for the Northern guys. (just kidding!)

Hey Todd,
unfortunitly I'll be tied up with work through FJ's, but we're planning on going down to the Mouse House the first week of April.
Lockheed is really busy with everything going on.
Have fun at FJ's!

I'll be there also. Gotta question. Do they allow flying in the evenings after the event for non-jet related airplanes? Being house bound here due to snow in the last month of so, I have some other planes I'd love to get some time on (40% Extra, small electric, etc). Most events allow open flying in the evenings after the event. Is it the same here with Florida Jets?

Thanks

Best to confirm with Frank but...Yes, usually after hours is open flying with normal frequency control.

Big Turnout?

So how many jets will make the show this year? Is this show one of the bigger ones?

Sfaust,

The official flying shuts down at 4PM. Normally people are flying until 6PM after that, with regular frequency control. (The transmitter impound closes at 4PM). You should have no problem flying your other stuff after hours.... However, don't miss the fun at the bar @ the headquarters hotel. :)

Down_shift,

Typically around 200 pilots. Last year was low @ around 170 pilots because of a bad weather front, but normally the weather is perfect.

Thanks Chris, I'll be sure to bring some other stuff to fly as well. Can't wait to get the fingers some exercise! Damn snow!

Prop flying

Re: prop flying at Florida jets after the event.

We unfortunately have to say no to prop flying after the event at Florida Jets. Had it just been a plane or two, it would have been OK, but because we have received so many e-mails from people who then wanted to bring their prop stuff also.

Florida Jets is a jet event, and the time between when the event closes at 4PM and dusk will be reserved for experimental jet flying.

Sorry about that Sfaust. Had it just been one prop plane it was OK, but we can't have a whole prop fun fly after the jet event portion, it would be unfair for those who traveled far to test fly ther jets at an ideal location. There are however local clubs in the area that probably would not mind you flying your prop stuf while down here in the nice weather.

Regards

John

Its not a problem. I was just hoping to get in a flight or two on a 40% Extra to get it all trimmed out for spring. Not worth me traveling to another field, as I will be camping on site and moving it all just to fly wouldn't be worth it. I'll just have to use that time watching others fly, charging my stuff for the next day, etc.
