I have the jetronic electronic valve already...

I'm using Glennis on two planes with much success. No constant adjusting, lubing, etc. They just work. Price is higher than others though.

I have BVM brakes on the F-4-but they should have needle bearings in them instead of bushings-going to see if I can get some from a r/c car to fit.They do work good.And I use a plain old clayton controls air switch to operate them-costs $10.00-works great.

I must also recommend the Trim wheels, brakes, & tires. They are a fantastic value from Ed and they work great. I am very satisfied. I used to use the Glennis, but they locked up all the time and the guy wants at least $16 a tire for replacement rubber. I got tired of that.

Hi,

I've been using Intairco wheels and brakes on my Avonds F-104 for 9 months or so - tyres are very durable and the brakes work well...they are very reasonably priced too.

I use the Glennis stuff, and it is by far the best. The price of them is the same as the BVM for the same size etc, and Glennis offers a wider variety.


The Trim stuff is just a BV knockoff, so I had the same problems with them as the BV (locking, grabbing)

As I mentioned before, I had locking problems with Glennis brakes. I have to admit, that I could probably have made them work by experimenting with lubricant, but they say you don't need it. For the size tires that I had, it was $16 for a replacement. BVM was only $10. And the other thing you had to deal with from Glennis was the wait. Dennis would not stock them always or he would wait till he felt like sending them out. Either way, you'd better plan your tire usage, cause he ain't gonna get it to you in a timely manner (or at least that's the way it was a year and a half ago).

I really do not want to deal with Glennis. I have not used his products, so I cannot say for or against them, but I just do not want to deal with him personally. Don't flame me, it's just my opinion, and I don't want to tell anybody else that they should not buy from him, only that I will not.
Do the Trim wheels also go together with twelve tiny tedious screws like my BVM ones did? Not lookin' forward to that part! I'm going to give the trim ones a shot, though. I just need to measure my axles and get back to Ed. The struts are custom made, so I need to get the axles right the first time, I cannot use wire on this particular setup.

The Trim do not use the screws like BVM. I have not had any problems with tires coming off the rims. I also have not had to replace any tires yet, I guess cause they have not locked up constantly like the Glennis so I have not worn flats all over them. Why don't you want to deal with the Glennis guy? He always seemed nice to me, just over priced for replacement parts and not very timely on shipping.
