Approx current draw on a BVM Bandit ARF
I am configuring a bandit arf with a p70. Servos will be all JR digitals. I have 2 questions. Do I need a powerbox kind of a device in this plane? What will be the approx current draw through the switch/rx. I use duralite batteries and I have used the duralite switch with regulator with great results. This time around I am tempted to change my setup and use digital switching. Although, not necessarily.
I am looking for suggestions. |
RE: Approx current draw on a BVM Bandit ARF
Anurag,
I spoke to Duralite last week and explained that I am setting up a Bandit ARF with all digitals and would like to use the digital switch and they told me that it would work just fine. I told them how many servos I had in the Bandit ARF and they said the digital switch would work and it is good for 5 amps...I am just using y-cables this time instead of a Powerbox which I have used in the past. Mine will be setup with the DX-7, not that it matters I don't think...Gary |
RE: Approx current draw on a BVM Bandit ARF
I have measured a bit over 1.5 Amps on my Bandit ARF. This is on the Ground moving all the surfaces around as fast as possible. I did not feel the need for a power box even thu I have one lying around. I use about 275-325 mah on every flight for a total time of 12 mins (6 mins actual flying, the rest taxing for take off and landing)...

RE: Approx current draw on a BVM Bandit ARF
I have found about the same current draw as Ehab on the ARF bandit as well. I am using one 4800 fromeco on receiver and average about 8 to 9 flights and still have plenty left.

RE: Approx current draw on a BVM Bandit ARF
Guys
I have a Powerbox Sensor switch in mine with 2 x Thunderpower 2100 2s packs-I fly 11 minutes and each pack takes 130-140mAh per flight with digitals on everything. I think this set up is safe for 7-8 flights in a day (in warm weather) Dave Wilshere |
