DURALITE CHARGE PROCEDURE QUESTION

IF I FLY 1 DAY A WEEK SHOULD I CHARGE MY 4000MAH DURALITE BATTS AFTER A DAY OF FLYING OR THE NIGHT BEFORE MY NEXT FLY DAY OR BOTH?

RE: DURALITE CHARGE PROCEDURE QUESTION

It really doesn't matter. I sometimes charge my Duralites several days ahead of the day that I go fly. The Li-Ions will maintain their charge at peak for a very long time...Gary

RE: DURALITE CHARGE PROCEDURE QUESTION

depth of discharge plays a key part to their life expectancy, while not necessary to charge them daily, it will prolong their life.

RE: DURALITE CHARGE PROCEDURE QUESTION

According to the guys at Duralite, Li-Ion batteries do not need to be cycled but they need to think they are being used. To accomplish this their recommendation is to fully charge and then discharge the packs down to 7.5 volts every 4-6 weeks when they are not in use. They recommend that the batteries are always left in a discharged state when not in use. In other words don't charge them and let them sit unused for several weeks. If you don't plan to use them then discharge them to 7.5 volts...Gary
