How big is your club?

It's been my experience that once clubs get to a certain size you get factions forming within the ranks and this results in an "us versus them" situation.

Whether it's fixed-wing versus helis, jets versus OFs, 3D versus circle-fliers -- there'll always be potential for conflict when any club is formed and that potential seems to be exponentially proportional to the number of members.

Fortunately our club (of which I'm the president) is still relatively small (30 members with 6-7 regular fliers) so, even though I'm a hard-core 3D hucker, some are newbies with trainers, some fly helis and others just do circuits, we all get on really well together without any friction.

Even when we effectively yield our entire strip to visiting turbine fliers every couple of months, there's no animosity because jets are model airplanes too you know :-)

What too many people forget is that we're flying models to have fun -- and nobody should have a monopoly on that fun.

If you have the right atmosphere in your club, the OFs or other disruptive individuals will feel so out of place that they'll become pretty scarce anyway.

Of course if you really wanted to forge some links between the jetfliers and the OFs, why not build a J3 Cub with a PST in it? :-)

Somebody should tell the OFs how dangerous Pick Axes are.

Your an Old Breed, anyone whose 782 gear was a broad axe ,crossbow & a bucket , has to be experienced in the ways of life.:DDon't ask me how old I am although I did have mess duty for the last supper.
