Roo II elevon binding.
When moving the elevon up and down, sometimes the TE will hit the LE of the elevon, and it will bind.
What have you guys done ? Sand some of the TE off ? I think in the german update sheet it says something about putting some tape onto the elevon so it gets tucked under the TE of the wing??? http://bornholm.adsl.dk/modelfly/files/vinge.jpg http://bornholm.adsl.dk/modelfly/files/vinge2.jpg SJ |

I have done two things:
1- I have lengthened the pushrod exit holes on the wing, so that the pushrods would not rub against the wing skin while moving in and out, which is the primary cause for this binding. 2- I have cut a strip 2mm wide off the elevon, full length and flushed the top surface. There's still zero gap on the top surface, as the elevon neutral position is at 3mm up. BRG, Chris |

Guy's
We have seen this too. Pulling the elevons up as far as they go, taping them in position and leaving them in a warm house for a week lifts the wing top skin a tiny bit-crude but it works! Dave Wilshere |

Thanks guys...
maybe lifting up the TE of the wing, and blasting it with a heat gun wil bend it just enough. SJ. |

Yes, you can use a heat gun but don't get it too hot, I slipped a piece of scrap balsa in between them and put the elevons in the up position and used the heat gun on mine.
And like Chris stated, lengthen the slots for the pusrods. David |
