Building my first Roo. I bought a kit that was already started. My question is, should I glass the wings and fins, or is monocote ok. This is the foam wing job. It will have a Simjet 1700, so should be fast. Thanks for the help.

I would glass them, a bit heavier but you won't be sorry.
I glassed my and I'm very satisified with the results.

I used Ultra Cote on mine, 186 flights and still going strong.
Last 5 flights with a SimJet 2300, talk about good verticle.
I had 1700 on it before. I think it's about 1 lb lighter with the Ultra Cote.

I own the same roo with the foam wings, and I've coverd mine in monocote. It has over 300 flights, adn it's powerd by a jetcat P-120. Take off weight is 7.5 Kg. This means that mine goes ballistic wright after take-off and no problems at all with the monocote covering. So in my opinion, you don't need to glass it to fly it safe.
Glassing it looks better, but it's also heavier.

Works well either way...just depends on your preference. The wings will easily take the stress without the glass.

Thanks for the help guys. I am going for the monocote. I will just watch the heat to protect the foam. Do these tend to come out nose heavy? Getting ready to do the inside stuff.

Have a look at tthe Kangaroo page on my site for install photo's. Yes they do tend to build a bit nose heavy, it helps to cut a hatch in the bottom below the engine for your battery.
