eMachineShop.Com?

Has anybody ever used [link=http://www.emachineshop.com/]eMachineShop[/link] and wish to share their experience? Good? Bad? Use of their design CADware?

Hi Mike,

I used them, the process worked OK.

The software is a bit tricky to use as it is designed around their processes that are unique. I used plasma cutting (IIRC), brake bending and drilling. All stainless steel and the process worked and the parts I got were correct.

I think CNC machining of aluminum would be easier but expensive. Let me know how it goes.

Regards,

OK, thanks for the reply - I've been watching their on line tutorial. Their software does have its own quirks but it's certainly usable by somebody who's not a CAD power user - uhh, that would be me. I'm considering some AL ALY replacement oleo strut scissors and purpose-built carbon fiber retract flex plates since neither are available from normal sources.

Send me your drawing and specs, we have a pretty significant mill operation down here and can probably help.

I can do all your flex plate stuff, right here in my shop without having to drive down the street to my buddies shop. Carbon fiber is really expensive right now, I would suggest G10 Flex plate material and give it a try.

Nice setup Sean. I am trying to get my buddy to hurry up and finish his CNC so I can start cutting some stuff out too

Once you cut out a servo hole, or airline holes or velcro holes for a receiver into a piece of wood with one of these, you will never ever ever want to go back!

Wow Sean ! You have all the toys ! What programs are you using for the whole process ? Design , G code , running the machine ?

G Code, and I wouldn't say all the toys, just enough to know there is always more that I want!

Mike,

Friend of mine used emachineshop to get a prop adapter made for a big electric motor. Service was good, finished product was excellent, price was astronomical.

HOLY CRAP, Sean!

Dualing CNC mills? Very nice. I have been thinking of making my little Sherline a CNC machine...........Now I'm thinking I should just e-mail you when I need a part:D

Here is a pic of some work done by my fly'in buddy, Wayne for the A-7. He is using a set up similar to yours.
