You're absolutely right. A few guys most likely could do a dozen or two and that would make it about as good a price I've ever seen on it.

I may be something I am doing but I have to hook the Coleman large Propane tank I am using now up directly to my two smaller turbines in order to get ignition, bypassing the onboard tank and selnoid. There does not seem to be the same pressure in the tank and it will not "fill" the on board tank enough to get the turbine to "pop" off through the valve. The last time out, I just bypassed the gas valve and hooked directly to the turbine with the tank. Started the sequence and then turned the gas on slightly, it ignited and the engine ran up fine. It was cumbersome, but I made do at the field. It was my first time out using the propane mix, and have always used the Powermax in the trigger valve, but when it became unavailable for me here locally I was forced to buy the valve for the larger propane cans and use those. It is nothing I can't overcome, but I really liked the Powermax much better. It was easier to get a liquid into the tank and have enough for one or two starts. I have only used the new valve and tank a couple of times but it does not seem to be as effective as the Powermax and trigger valve for me, perhaps I am doind something wrong. I had this happen with both my SuperBee and PST engines. Have not tried it yet on the larger turbines, hopefully this weekend.

Are you turning the Coleman can upside down? There is no pickup tube in those green propane cans like the tube in the powermax can that picks up from the bottom. If you want liquid you have to turn the green propane can upside down when filling or starting.
Only thing I ever noticed was a more powerful lightoff not as gentle as the butane mix with the lower pressure and gas combo. Of course that is without changing any settings. Purge the tank first to so there is no vapor in it to prevent filling. Hopefully that helps.

Yes, I tried shaking the tank, turning up side down, the whole nine yards, maybe it is just a bad can, or perhaps the fact that it was 96 degrees that day and the humidity was almost the same lent credence to the fact that I could not get any liquid in the tank.
I am not dissatisfied with it, but it is like trying to teach an old dog a new trick. Perhaps I will actually like it better just doing away with the onbaord tank and valve all together....LOL
I did notice that the light up was a little stronger, and it did not require much gas at all, just crack the valve, to get a good start.

Try it again but be sure to purge the onboard tank first by pulling the check valve. Replace the check valve, turn the green can upside down first and turn on to make sure you are getting liguid /gas coming out before connecting to your check valve, then connect up and fill your tank. Clear line is best so you can see what is going on. You can get clear 4mm line from McMaster for about 17 cents a foot. I have the part number if you need.

I know I did not purge the onboard tank, but I did turn the can upside down and only saw "vapor" no liquid coming from the hose. Maybe that was the problem.

Can someone post a close up picture of the bottom of their Powermax Trigger Valve, the part that mates with the can? I was able to obtain an original PECA TV101A trigger valve from a photographic supply house. It looks like I'll have to cut off some threads to get the valve stem to push in on the can or machine up an adapter. I've e-mailed Daryll Usher for help as well. Thanks.

Thanks. Looks like I'll have to cut off the bottom threads to the rubber gasket and then add a little brass tube into the bottom of the valve to get it to go into the can. Can you take a close up of the very bottom that has the brass tube? Thanks again.

I wonder if it will actually fit the PowerMax cans? You would think all of the cans of this type would be the same but who knows.

They do not manufacture that valve anymore. I called them today.

Type 1 triggers wont work as they are... As I said, I tested just about every trigger still available on the market. Some were not compatible at all, others took alot of modification to make them work.
