Lightning and Powerbox ?????

Hi All, I am doing a quick job on a CArf lightning. So far the thing has four 8711 and three 8611 s- Those pigs draw about 2 amps each when they are working hard. Now that coupled with the 36 feet of servo leads have me thinking that I am going to tell the owner that I really cant in good faith finish it without putting a powerbox in planezilla. What do you think?? Does it have to have one or would it just be an extra perk. Thanks, Scott

Hey Scott, I like using the Powerboxes in big birds. They have alot of benefits. You can't go wrong. i would recommend it.

I wouldn,t risk an aircraft like that (and that expense), without a powerbox. You would need matchboxes, anyhow , for the flaps and elevators, so get a powerbox champion.

Guys

I use a Powerbox Professional in my Lightning-with JR's 10 channels you only need one match box (on flaps) so you have the choice. The Champion is great and could be used in the future on bigger models.

The Lightning needs nose weight so I use a Ni version with the packs all in the nose cone

Maybe he can do the Weatronic, it has two receivers and the regulators... plus some other extras

when I called futaba and asked them if you could run all these heavy servos they said it would not be a problem so I got a power box anyway. What does that tell ya!
