Powermax Trigger Valve -- New Source
These seem to be getting pretty scarce or so others are saying. I have even read that they are not being made anymore. Check out this link and see if this isn't the same trigger valve:

RE: Powrmax Trigger Valve
Here is just the valve. Sure looks identical to the one on my Powermax bottle.

RE: Powermax Trigger Valve -- New Source
This is good news my trigger valve can be used to clean the dust off my computer keyboard & not just gather dust in my flight box lol

RE: Powermax Trigger Valve -- New Source
Steve,
This may be the same one that Todd W. (Dreamworks) said takes some modifications to make it work. Maybe Todd will see this post and reply back but I do think it is the same one he said would not work without some time consuming modifications. He was exploring where to be able to get some of the "Trigger Valves" and did some experimenting. I got the last "Trigger Valve" Todd had. Don |
RE: Powrmax Trigger Valve
And $10.00 cheaper than what I paid for it.
|
RE: Powrmax Trigger Valve
Wrong Series.... will require quite some work to make it compatible, already tried one [:o]
|
RE: Powermax Trigger Valve -- New Source
Thanks, Ordered One... Ill see If I can get it to work.
|
RE: Powermax Trigger Valve -- New Source
I will second what Todd said.....valve does NOT work. Ask me how I know....or better yet, give me your address so I can mail the one I hacked up....it will make a great paperwieght!

RE: Powermax Trigger Valve -- New Source
Thanks Todd,

RE: Powermax Trigger Valve -- New Source
Why the scarcity with these trigger valves? Liability? Supply and demand? Seems like they should be readily available...[sm=confused.gif]
|
RE: Powermax Trigger Valve -- New Source
It's my understanding the company that produced them for us is no longer making the product.

RE: Powermax Trigger Valve -- New Source
Hmmm..seems like a golden opportunity for a purple anodized aluminum one to hit the market then!! :D

RE: Powermax Trigger Valve -- New Source
I believe the original triggers had something to do with the camera / film industry which has become mostly digital now??

RE: Powermax Trigger Valve -- New Source
The Series II trigger was used on a specific brand of canned air, the manufacturer discontinued this brand and therefore, the trigger was also discontinued.
As I stated before, I have tried to modify every model trigger available and they all require a substantial amount of time and machining to make them work. I can do them, they just would cost more than the original we used to sell... roughly 55.00 each. How many are willing to spend this much on a trigger valve? If enough demand exists, I'll make more. RE: Powermax Trigger Valve -- New Source
If anyone else decides to do more R&D into making the ones that are available work, you can save another 7 bucks here: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...ome_Valve.html
My valve says OS Series II on it - I Googled the fool out of that in various versions, but no luck...guess I'll have to be nice to the one I have - I've been guilty of just tossing it into my flight stuff sorta care free if you will. Hate to break it and no more to go around...[:o] |
RE: Powermax Trigger Valve -- New Source
I'd say farm it out to some chinese manufacturer so we could get 'em for 6 bucks, but then we'd all get lead poisioning..
|
RE: Powermax Trigger Valve -- New Source
Nowadays most canned air comes with the plastic throw-away triggers on the can.
|
RE: Powermax Trigger Valve -- New Source
$14.00 bucks for this one...bottom one..that's an additional $5.50 off the above cheaper price...which is $12.50 off... ;)

Guys any of the type 1 valves will work with the powermax cans. The only thing you will need to do is install a barbed fitting on the tip or just get some 4mm line over the nozzel.
I used to have a box of these valves when i used to work on microfilm equipment. Alan |

ORIGINAL: 3DHELINUT Guys any of the type 1 valves will work with the powermax cans. Alan 3D, that is not true. The portion that attaches to the can is TOTALLY different. Yes, the part that goes around the lip is the same, but the fitting that goes inside the powermax can will not work. Trust us when we say it will not work without a LOT of modification. The type 1 valve will NOT work. |
RE: Powermax Trigger Valve -- New Source
Series II is they ONLY trigger that will work with powermax without serious modification..... Thing is, even with modifying the others, you can easily screw up the valve rendering it unusable. They are a major PITA to modify.
I guess my assumption of a sale price around 55.00 being too expensive is correct? |
RE: Powermax Trigger Valve -- New Source
Todd,
Lucky for me I was able to get your last one. If I had not been able to buy that one I would have had to buy one for $55.00 so yes I think they will sell at that price when people start really having to have one. At this point I think most pilots have at least one but soon that won't be the case. Don |
RE: Powermax Trigger Valve -- New Source
Whats the real benefit? To save gas when you pull the barb out? I have a new one in the original package that I never use.
|
RE: Powermax Trigger Valve -- New Source
rocketman-RCU ,
Would you like to sell it? Don |
