Hi

I starting to be really desperate about the jetronics valves. I am pulling about 8 bar or 100psi to the air system with the gear train down. When I push the gear up button the valve lets the air escape thru the air out put and the train sticks in mid position.

If I start with gear up and then put gear down I have no problems. It seems like the electrovalve is not powerfull enough tomove from one position to the other.

Any imputs welcomed

maybe your cylinder is leaking over the oring?
cant imagine the valve to be bad
we operate them over 10 bars with no problems

I posted this info on another board, thought I would just paste the info here....

I get many calls on one particular issue relating to both the Jettronic and UP brand valves....

The complaint " either in gear up or gear down position (or both), my valve leaks out the exhaust port"
The problem - This issue typically has NOTHING to do with the valve itself. A leak of this nature, where air is escaping the system out the exhaust port of the valve, is caused by a leaking cylinder. This leak is internal, not external meaning, the air is passing by the piston internally and passing out the opposing airline and back to the valve exhaust port.
The Solution - crimp off each cylinder feed line one at a time with some hemostats. When you have crimped the leaking cylinder line, the leak will cease....Fix or replace that cylinder. It is possible to have multiple cylinders leaking, check them all!

I had the same problem with the jettronic valve and a friend the same.
I now prefer a servo actioned valve, it's safe.
Stay away from it.

Thanks guys

Found out that yesterday evening. There is no issue with the valve. The problem is in the cilinders. Now I understand why people are so renitent about chinese retracts.

These never worked so should be replaced by seller.

they dont have to be bad..
most of the time , taking out the chinese grease and orings , replace them with decent ones and lubricate with teflon solves 99% of the trouble,s

Uffff....

4 hours to clean and change normal o-rings by viton ones. These are stiffer but eventhough I had to put some teflon tape inside the piston to allow the o-ring to expand a bit. It is incredible that a new €500 gear does not work properly. I am used to this because whenever I buy a chinese ARF I pay for crapy hand work to undo it and do it properly again.
