Kangaroo powered by 1.08 glow engine??
Does anyone have any experience with an engine powered kangaroo. I have an OS 1.08BX1 waiting for a new home. What is the performance like with a glow engine? Is it any lighter?

glow power
Yes its much lighter without the turbine/fuel/extra battery. Mine was about 13 pounds. Thats still alot for a 1.08 to fly. It gets up and goes pretty fast but no vertical at all. Also a pusher prop is hard to come by. You have to get a big one and cut it down. The three blade composit from planes plus was about 70 bucks if memory serves. I put glow on mine to practice flying the delta, using speed brake, retracts ect.

RE: glow power
Yo Mark - Glad to see the Roach has a new home, hope you have her up and flying again soon! FWIW, I had to add about 5 oz. of lead in the rear of the fuse to get the CG in the correct location when full of fuel (and a P120 bolted on back), so make sure you test-assemble everything and check the CG before permanently mounting your glo engine - you may want to space it as far forward as possible and move the batteries into the nose. FWIW, the CG is marked by the small black (tape) arrows on the wing.

RE: glow power
Disappointing to say the least... Then we tried a Moki 2.1 with a rotated carburator and a 16x16 apc prop... and then the performance was slightly better. Regards, Enrique
