Crow Braking On A Maverick?

Has anyone out there experimented with crow braking on a Maverick?

I have no flaps on mine but I do have a Bandit style speed brake.

Braking

I think I have witnessed Crow braking of a Maverick before... Someone at Mississippi ( I think ) taxied a Razor out right in front of a Maverick that was landing.. Tore hell out of both of them!!
That's what i call Crow braking!!

Crow Braking On A Maverick?

A guy by the name of Eric Meyers experimented with that a while back, but with the aid of flaps as well. He could spot land and stop that airplane in about 50ft.

A number of years ago, Bob Parks convinced me that they were not nearly as effective at killing lift as I thought.

Even so, its a good use of computer radios and its better than nothing if you don't have flaps.

Chris

Crow Braking On A Maverick?

Ok, what the hell is "crow braking"?

What is Crow Braking

PR38,
Usually it's flaps down (~45+deg), ailerons deflected up (~25 deg) and elevator trimmed (usually down). Popular setup with the glider jocks to precisely control descent and air braking. It's already programmed into the JR 388, 783, and 8103's glider software and is usually actuated using the throttle stick.
