Best in the West
Well, It has began. today was day ONE of Best in the West. Sorry I did not take any pictures today. I was pilot number 19 today and there was maybe 10 jets taking to the air today. Most pilots opting to just make it to the field, snake a good pit place and then not getting the planes out of the trailer.
Mike, the CD, and possibly the club (I don't know who did most of the planing, but you can almost bet it was mostly Mike) got tables and chairs for all the pit area. The club placed designated parking areas for all and there is even a BBQ vendor on site for the hungry ones. Free T-shirt and Lunch for all Pilots. I will not be able to make it on Friday, but will return on Saaturday (something about having a real job) Pictures to follow when get a chance. Turbulence |
too bad
Too bad I have to miss the event this year. My scheduled trip to California has been put off until the 21st. I was looking forward to fun in the SoCal sun.

Directions
Hello
I was just wondering how you would get to the Prado Air Park from LA. I know this is in Chino but have not been there. Thanks Mike |
great field
Hey Doc,
take 91 east from western LA, or 91 west from I-15 to 71 (Euclid?)aprox 3 miles from I-15 follow Euclid to pine. take a right turn on Pine for just a couple of miles and turn right at the T intersection that points to the womens correctional facility. that road will lead you to the flying field. hope this helps, buck |
Directions
PVMAC/Prado Field in Chino From Downtown L.A.
Take HWY 60 East and exit Euclid (about 40+ miles). Go South on Euclid until you reach Pine, then go east until you reach Chino/Corona RD. and go south again (right turn only intersection) until the pavement ends. The road continues straight but it is unpaved. You should see the field on your left about 1/4 mile down the unpaved road. Turbulence http://crcja.org/prado.jpg |

Best in the West
Wow!
What an event. Mike Sieniarecki (the CD) did a fantastic number on this one. The "Prado" is one awesome place for a jet event. The most spectators (Sat.) than I have ever seen at a jet event. Great weather on Sat and Sun. Too much fun. Did not take a lot of static jet shots (and I know that's what y'all like to see). Will post some pics tomorrow. Shot some very nice video from atop the 40 ft. "media" scissor lift that Mike and Duff Waldron arranged. Very cool idea. I'll post a few screen captures as they come online. Truly, on the must attend list for the West Coasters. Paul |
I'll drink to that
Yup, ditto what Paul said. nice job Mike and thanks to the folks from the Prado club for letting us play this past weekend. I appreciate the efforts put forth by all the folks.

What a Weekend!
Most fun, I've had at an event yet! Thanks to Mike and the Prado Club!
Great flying with all the boys: Duff flexing his power (and his wings) on the F15 and staying just subsonic with the Bandit. Dan and Mrs. Imaculate. Bags and the close air support mission with the 100. Ron tearing it up (piston rod that is) and flying better than ever! Bill and Mrs. "Beyond Imaculate" Jon V congrats on the squeaky clean new bobcat. Mike "This is your CD, speaking to you from the Prado Penthouse" Mr Matt taking the rookie to speeds and places its never seen--and that sound! Jason who gets more flights than anyone else and he didn't even bring a plane. Tam and the Twins. "Smoke on Baby" Harley with the toggle switch on the throttle--go baby go! Ken with a new airplane for each day of the event. Rob, thanks for the "NASCAR style" formation flight! Dave F with the ultimate in Scale realism and "has anyone seen my left main tire?" Justin's blue angels quiver and his mach2 tire scorching greaser with the bobcat. Buck with the rocket powered Rafale and high alpha landings. BTW Buck...thanks for the thermal probe. AMT is drop shipping you one today to replace. Just to confirm--you say its bad to start up with 3oz of fuel pooled in the bottom of the engine--cause I thought the twin 4' flames out the tail were kinda *****in. Looking forward to making a bunch of noise with all you guys at St. George. Joe |

Best in the West
Was a great event.. I was surprised there weren't more people attending though.. They really missed out. 4 days of perfect jet weather, coupled with a really well organized event.
Hope to see more people in St George. -Doug |
