14ch RX Question

Guys,

Many of you have some great knowledge of all things electrical in our models so a question if I may....

I would like to switch to a single 14ch rx in most of my models (maintaining a dual switch/battery setup) but some have 8 hi-power digital servos (JR8711) and I have heard too many people say standard RX's can't handle the load of so many hi power digital servos.

I would like to think that the newest RX from Futaba in 2008 (the new 14ch 2.4ghz RX) has been designed to handle such possible loads??

Can you let me know please? I have been told that the tracks in the RX are rated to 65A but would like to hear further confirmations before I make a decision.

Don't know about the rating on the Rx, but I use Smart-Fly Expanders [link=http://www.smart-fly.com/Products/Expander/expander.htm]http://www.smart-fly.com/Products/Expander/expander.htm[/link] for my multi-digital servo set ups. No problems so far.

This is the whole thing I am possibly trying to get away from? I am trying to find out if we can go back (reliably and safely) to the days of a RX and 2 batteries and nothing more complicated!

I'd like to be able to run the 2.4ghz 14ch rx to remove the risk of getting shot down and the need for additional items like matchboxes (14ch should be enough). Teaming this RX with the Emcotec DPSI-BIC for a failsafe dual battery setup pretty much covers all bases except the possibility of the Amp draw of the servos being too great for the RX - hence my question!

I have been using an R5014DPS RX in my 33% Ultimate Biplane with no regulator for 3 years with no problems.
6 HS 5945 s Ailerons and elivator
1 HS 5955 Rudder
1 HS 5925 Throttle
1 HS 625 Choke
I have over 175 flights in her.
I use an I4c products isolator ( no longer made ) on my Boomeang XL and my 40% Edge 540.

In my humble opinion you don't need to worry about the receiver buss handling the loads. I have had as many as 15 servos running off one 10-channel receiver. Yes, two totally separate batteries and switches.. But just one receiver. I do believe you can over load a single receiver port, if you are driving 4 servos requiring high current drain....off that one port. If your not going to do that you should be fine!
