searching for hinges
I was wondering if anyone knows if any type of Robart type pin hinges are made such that they can come apart, more like a Comp Arf hinge line with a fiberglass or wire pin?
Any place to get composite pin sets? Thanks, Dave |
RE: searching for hinges
The KAVAN flat pin type hinges will come apart from what I can remember. The end of the pin is crimped but can be pulled out if required.
I will have a look next time I am in the workshop. Why do you need to get it apart? |
RE: searching for hinges
You can buy the Robart hinges without the pins installed, then use a wire......................

RE: searching for hinges
You can also buy "sockets" for the Robart pin hinges (e.g http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXES25&P=7)
You can glue the hinge into one surface, the pocket into the other, and use a grub scrw in the socket to hold the hinge in. |
RE: searching for hinges
Thanks guys.
I am putting my hinges in an F22 and fitting the aileron or flap into ail or flap slot, where the acute angle of the slot relative to the wing trailing edge is tight with Robart hinges. It would be simpler to have two hinge pieces and then line them up and then place the wire. Dave |
