Rookie II

I am currently building a Rookie II, (my first jet) and have a few questions the manual does not address, version 1.0 or 1.1. The problem is the axles for the thrust vector are about 19mm too wide to fit in the fusealage. My question is do I need to machine them to the exact dimesion of the fusealage or press the tube to form an oval?
My second question is the best way to install the nose gear pull-pull wires to accomadate the nose gear when retracted. I have studied the concept of the wires being drawn to the side by some sort of elastic rubber band but have as yet not seen any post to highlight this area.
Any suggestions would be greatly appricated.

Equipment list
Artes Falcon
Kevlor Tank
BVM UAT
Bohotec Landing Gear
JR 9303 Tx 72 mhz
Mostly JR servos 8611's
Have not decided on batteries yet

Thanks

Steve

RE: Rookie II

my buddy on his rookie, used a plastic zip tie. Cut off the square end, bend in a U shape, the bottom of the U towards the servo, use heat shrink tubing to attach steering cables to the zip-tie.

As the gear comes up the zip-tie opens up keeping cables from being snagged.

Note: do not get your steering cables too tight, the retract unit may not lock in down position. (I did this once)

I have used the zip tie system in several Rookies and it works good for me. You squeeze the vector tube in an oval. There should be a picture in the manual but they may not addess it in words. I only read the pictures.:D
