If Ehab can land it, ANYBODY can.

This is how Ehab usually lands.

This is Ehab landing the reaction, hence anyone can land it. ;)

Aww... leave poor Ehab alone ! Everyone knows that's not a mullet - it's a "rear combover". :D

Andrew, from personal experience I would recommend the Reaction 54. I just finished mine this spring and soloed with it this past weekend. My first jet and it handles like a dream. It's available as an ARF from PST or in kit form from Bruce Tharpe at www.btemodels.com/r54.html. If you're a builder, the kit is beautiful. Goes together very easily with all parts fitting perfectly. Unfortunately the kit is currently out of stock but Bruce promises more this summer. Worth waiting for. In the mean time review the R-54 thread in this forum. You can find it easily by searching on my name or Bruce Tharpe's name.

Baby Boomerang is another good jet for training.

RE: Trainer

Boomerang - either Baby, or Elan are excellent trainers. The Reaction 54 is excellent as well although. as mentioned above, Bruce is out of the kits at the moment...

Andrew - if you're interested in the R54 kit, there is a brand new one for sale with only the wings completed for $400. Otherwise, the ARF R54 is a good one to start on or the Boomerang as mentioned above.

Probably the best jet "trainer" relating to learning fast jet flight dynamics and orientation would be the Kangaroo/Rookie/Hotspot designs. If you can take off and land the Roo/Rookie/Hotspot on the money consistently your probably ready for the faster and heavier scale jets in general.
On the otherhand if your looking for "EASY" to fly those previously models mentioned up above are some good options.... although probably more so "flight trainers" than ideal "fast jet trainers". The Bobcat and Velox are worth looking at also with wide flight performance envelope and easy turbine access that would be good jet intro/sport flyers....

Andrew,
$210.00 for this airframe. Flys awesome and lands as slow as a 60 size sport plane. I have yet to hear of one coming apart. I do spins and snaps with my and have had no problems.
This was my first turbine and it was so easy, it was disappointing.

RE: Trainer

I second Grodus choice. Flys awesome. Wide speed range. I had owned and flown both the boomer and Falcon 120. Both great choices, but if I had to choose again, I would have gone with the Falcon 120. It would have saved me a lot of money. It has a wider speed range then the boomer with the same motor, it flys more like a jet, however it will land just like the boomer. Very slow and no bad habbits. In fact, I had to add trim to my boomer when flap deployed. Not so with the Falcon. The falcon will take some modification to make it turbine ready, but not much.

you can't go wrong with either choice, but I think you will be happier with the Falcon...I was. IMHO
