Interesting .......... Do you think that this would also work for HiTec digitals as well ?

starzak, beg, borrow or steal a Hitec programmer and use it to reverse the servo.

BTW I would not use a reversing Y servo lead. All the ones I have ever tried to use had centering issues on one servo.

Same for Hitec as for all servos, make the motor drive the other way and reverse the feedback.
