Of course these are the actual supersonic airfoils that the full scale planes use. Probably not applicable to the sub-sonic R/C Models.

Good luck on finding much more than this... I've been trying to find coordinates for a TsAGI SR-5S for a while, with not much luck. I even emailed TsAGI from their website. [:o]

Well, maybe I have information for you...

According to my copy of Jay Miller's Aerofax on the MiG-29, it lists the wing airfoil as a NACA type 64A airfoil, 6% tip and root airfoil thickness, of biconvex configuration. The biconvex part throws me off a bit - I wouldn't think the wing is biconvex. If you were short on information, you could probably conclude the airfoil may be similar to a 64A006 airfoil (symmetrical).

In the same book, it calls the Htail and Vtail out as a NACA 64A004. It mentions the Htail is thickened at the tip to 4.8%.

I wonder if some of the TsAGI airfoil designations are actually of NACA origin? [8D]

Of course, if you are requesting an airfoil used on a specific existing 1/7 scale model, you'd want to talk to the model mfgr then.

Do you know the parameters of camber that biconvex NACA type 64A airfoil 6%? Found in net one model designed with biconvex airfoil, but there was no info about the family and number of profile. Mig was designed in 1/7,38 scale, max thickness 40mm at about 30%, no info about camber. From my calculations it seems to be airfoil with 7% thickness but that's all what can I "deduce". Have no info is that config flyable, etc. So I dont want to experiment with such a important think :).

I suspect the "biconvex" info mentioned in the Aerofax book is incorrect. A true biconvex airfoil is one that has a radius for the upper contour, and also the lower contour - also known as a lenticular shape. All NACA airfoils I know of are not biconvex. I would suspect they used a symmetrical section 64A006 airfoil, with no camber. Anyway, the full scale aircraft creates it's own camber, by deflecting the LE flap and TE flap. Using strictly a 64A006 as the airfoil is not unusual. Either way, I'll see if I come across any additional info on the wing airfoil, other than the Aerofax book.

Maybe anyone of MiG 29 owner could add photo or draft of the airfoil of existing model, maybe photo of root rib.
