JR 10X Flap Programing Help!!!
I hope that someone here can help me with programing the flaps on my L-39......
I have each flap on a separate channel and mixed together due to the fact that if I "Y"ed them together each would move in a separate direction. One flap is on the flap channel and the other is on Aux 2...When I assign the flaps to the landing switch only the flap that is on the flap channel moves...The flap on Aux 2 channel doesn't move...Another thing, the flap only moves on the last step of the three position landing switch....What I want to do is to have partial takeoff flaps on the second position of the switch and full landing flaps on the last position... What am I doing wrong?!?!?!!![:@] Kevin |
RE: JR 10X Flap Programing Help!!!
Kevin,
Try a seperate mix, Flap to Aux 2 that should do it. |
RE: JR 10X Flap Programing Help!!!
Kevin hope this helps some.
I believe you want it with the 3 position flap switch....secon from the left next to the aux 5 dial. If so and you don't use the slider.... First deactivate the slider by going to code 17 and scroll down one to FLAP and set it to INH ( you may need to readjust your flap linkage if you had not already done that. You will also need to go to AUX 2 and also set it to INH so you don't accidentally hit the aux 2 switch deploying only one flap. Next go into any open mix and Assign the mix as FLAP->AUX2 then set the OFFSET to -100% on the top number (If the servo still works backward you can make it a +100% by pressing TURN) test it first on the servo monitor page (code 75) so you don't force a flap the wrong way. They should show movement in opposite directions....1 up ...1 down. Skip the switch position select page I think you can leave it in the NORM type of mix under MASTER ...its been awhile, I am not sure. Then exit out of the program mix Now enter code 66 for flaps Disregard the ELEV Mid and ELEV LAND portion for now...that is for adding up or down elevator trim adjustments as you deploy flaps. On the right side of the screen you will see FLAP with MID and LAND settings. set the physical flap switch to the mid position and increase the numbers say to something like 60 for MID Note you can select U or D meaning up or down ....you may need to select U just depending on servo reverse or your unique installation. I always seem to end up using U. You will see the flaps start to move. Keep increasing the number until you get them to the takeoff flap position you want. Next do the same for the landing position after you move the FLAP switch to the land position. At first the flaps will go back up until you have increased the number under the LAND position. Later you can add in any elevator trim adjustments by going back into code 66 if needed. If you use servo slow function I believe you will need to slow both of the channels or the one on flap will move slow and the one on aux 2 will be instant. This should get you to what you want or at least closer. BC |
RE: JR 10X Flap Programing Help!!!
Kevin, that's a basic programming question that is covered by the user manual.
I suggest you have a look at it and then come back to ask for more pertinent question. This will avoid waisting some good willing nice chap's time. You can also have a look at the JR12x user manual: http://www.jrradios.com/ProdInfo/Fil...Resolution.pdf Although it is not the same radio, it is very well written and explains a lot of "basic programming general philosophy". I don't want to be nasty, it is just that the way this thread is started it will end up in a 10x user manual plagia... |

RE: JR 10X Flap Programing Help!!!
Kevin,
Here is an excellent article by Joe Rafalowski that will cover at least part of your question. http://www.georgiajets.org/docs/prog...ch_by_JoeR.pdf |

Thanks to all that have given positive feedback!!!....I have programed the three position landing switch but I'm still having trouble with the flap slider...I can inhibit the slider just fine but the flaps move to the takeoff position when I inhibit the slider...I need to figure out how to raise the flaps when inhibiting the slider.... RE: JR 10X Flap Programing Help!!!
Kevin,
You have to inhibit the slider in code 17 then manually with your pushrods put the flaps in the up position. The flaps default to the servo center point when using the slider like aileron and elevator centering up/down movements. after you inhibit the slider the code 66 flap function accounts for the starting position to be zero or full left etc. Just INH the slider of the flap and aux 2 switch. Then readjust your flaps to up which will be the zero position. BC |

Kevin: Hi! this is Hector from SAn Juan, Puerto Rico.
Don't listento this type of *****$holes, that doesn't help the hobby community like this guy form nowhere. Other thing you could do is called Matchbox. I also have an L-39, and that's how I set the flaps, and if you have two servos for the elevator, use another one. Hector |
RE: JR 10X Flap Programing Help!!!
Well guys I might not help the community but I don't and I will never insult anybody. This is a matter of education.
Kevin, as you may have seen I have included in my post a link to the 12x useer manual. Good reading and enjoy this gentlemen's hobby... |
RE: JR 10X Flap Programing Help!!!
Good reading and enjoy this gentlemen's hobby... I have reported your remark in this thread and your other (inflammatory and baseless) thread to the Mods. On second thought, Olnico has a valid point, KEVIN, how could you ask such a stupid question, you selfish moron! You are wasting our valuable time with this nonsense. What on Earth gave you the impression that questions are allowed in the forums?? Hmmmmmmmm? |

Kevin Have a look at Joe Rafalowski's pdf document given by countryboy. It is really excellent and explains how to do it step by step. |
RE: JR 10X Flap Programing Help!!!
Kevin,
On the 10X if you want to use ailerons as spoilerons you may want to go the single flap channel route then use one of these to get the reversed flap. it even has a servo centering pot. This frees up channels and mixes versus even BVM mixing instructions. Quad flaps is very free mix consuming to get to spoileron use. This is my preffered method for BK, KC, and ViperJET http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...ProdID=EXRA325 |
RE: JR 10X Flap Programing Help!!!
Thanks to all here I have successfully programed the L-39!!!...It did require some extra mixes due to using two separate channels....Again, THANKS TO ALL THAT CONTRIBUTED!!!!
