MB-339 Control Throws
 

My 339 is about ready to fly. I would like to know what control throws (elevator and aileron) have worked well for those of you who have already flown this plane. The manual does give some values to use, but as we all know, these values are not always the ones that work!

Control throws
 

The control throws in the book are good this bird flys good. Make sure you check the c of g and the fuel tank system to make sure you balance it out. My friend lost his mb339 on the first flight due to the setup of his fuel draw. Unfortunately he did not contact me when he was going to fly and he had the mueller tanks drain first this moved the c of g to the front and the plane dived and never recovered, after a four minute flight.

That's funny, that's how I fly mine and I don't have that problem. Mueller tanks drain first. Then Dubro 32oz in the front and then the BVM UAT right in front of the 32 oz. Depending on where you put the C.G. YOU WANT the nose to be a little heavy. Most people that I know that have the MB-339 opted to use the front hatch-line to about half inch into the hatch (that is almost one inch back where Cermark reccomends)

Fuel Sequencing
 

I'm with Turbulence. I don't have the Mueller tanks but I changed my sequencing to get the Cg forward by draining the aft tanks first into the large forward tank. My UAT is on top of the 40 oz main tank. That's the remaining 44oz under the canopy after 2-3 minutes of flight. The trim change is minimal. I've flown probably 50 or 60 flights that way. My Cg is about 1/2" aft of the hatch line no fuel. I think something else failed.
