Many thank Gerald

this is the data reading
not 120.000 due lack of fuel in a festo join

my next test is with exaust cone like yours...

i think to put the engine in a PST F-84G

Very nice work chrigui.
Excellent workmanship!

The numbers are very good. You should have a very nice running engine.

Are the readings taken with the cone off? If so they may be slightly high. As a rule you should try and keep the EGT (cone on) to 650c or below. Anything over will reduce bearing life and increase chances of turbine failure.

The c.c. also shows signs of "late" (e.i. rearward) burning - you can see that the front part was cooler. You might want to try to block some of the holes in front. Also try to bend the injector needles to the side so the fuel contact the vaporization tube as soon as possible. These changes should help reduce the EGT.

hello...
the numbers are taken with cone "on" and i think that are good
i burned over 20 litres of kerosene

RE: UT-160 turbine? Feedback please?

Indeed good looking numbers, you might even tweak the cone more with those temps. First see what you have at max rpm.

Best regards,
Gerald

i will try another cone like your..
now i must to test the reliability for secure use on model...;) ;););)

Hi,

If so then the numbers are very good :)

Great to see more turbine builders here.

many thx....

this is a long time work start one years ago, stopped due to crisis in my factory :(, then
re-started 2 weeks ago ...

Nice thrust but the temp is a bit high. The bearings can suffer with this heat.
You can either open up the nozzle, tinker with the c.c. or just limit the RPM.

Don't sweat it. Building turbines is like that. The tinkering never ends :)

this is the high temp reached during today test
other value was 687° - 672°....the nozzle is little closed in diameter than original design

Hey Man , You got a seriously good looking engine, keep up the good work , its an inspiration for some of us ..

What bearings do you run on your engine ?

Hey All

Im currently building a KJ66 style combustion chamber , does anybody know where I can get Inconel vaporizer tubes ?

Also Which Grade inconel is best to use, 718 or 625 ??

What is the best way to make the combustor ends such as in picture bellow ?

Press or Spinning ?

Whats best ?

i used a press ..

Depends on how much you wanna make. For small amounts spinning is a good option as I do, making lots of them you better make some moulds for a press.

Below some pictures of my spinning method, just one of the way's to do it.
(In this case spinning a MW54 chamber)

Best regards,
Gerald

I agree with Jetbono!

I went to your website! Sorry about the drool all over your webserver! LOL! Those pics of your work had me wanting to do the same thing you are. If only I had the equipment, the skills, the time, the money, ... LOL!

Maybe one day. Keep up the good work and I wish you much luck and success!
