I ordered a CBM F-16N back in Dec received it toward the end of Jan. Ok I waited a month for it no problem right. No its missing the all the landing gear parts and the fiberglass covering, about $200 worth of stuff. I E-mail them that day (because they never answer the phone) and tell them about the missing Items. Three e-mails latter they reply back that they are looking into it. Two weeks later I e-mail them again( no one got back to me) multiple e-mails later they reply back saying that they are waiting for the parts to come in. OK no problem I'm a patient guy. Two weeks STILL NOTHING :angry: . I e-mail them again no response since last week. I sent them another e-mail today if I receive no reply within 24 Hrs, I am going see if I can get them for mail fraud and will contact the Better business bureau, Chamber of Commerce, Postal Inspector, and talking to some Lawyers. I'm a patient guy but 47 Days is enough time for them to get me the missing stuff. But what really gets me angry is them not returning my e-mails and giving me a strait answer on when I will receive the stuff.

You are not the first and im sure won't be the last. I say go after them and nail them to the wall. If you take on the responsibility to open a buisness, you must run it right, or face the concequences. Take them down, and take em down hard. Stinking bone heads...if they can't run a buisness right then they should get the hell out. I hate getting the run around, can you tell :)

Tell em' to take their scrim-coverin', styrofoam innards and stickem' where the sun don't shine. Never heard a positive comment about them...and am sure I never will. Any company that doesn't respond, or offer any sort of customer service is not a company at all. And should be treated as such. Stalker, I am mad just reading your post.

Welcome to the club, Stalker! I'm surprised you didn't surf RCOnline or RCUniverse to get advance warning about this company. I bought the same kit from Tower Hobbies around 3 years ago and it also arrived missing parts. Tower has since stopped any dealings with Combat...no surprise there. The Combat F16N is actually a great looking model, as is their F18. These kits are fun to build (when all pieces are present) and fly well. It's a darn shame that they can't use simple decency in responding to emails. There's really no excuse. They obviously don't read reviews of their non-existant customer support or don't care. Hope you somehow get it flying anyway.

WHEN YOU BOUGHT THE KIT DID YOU PAY BY PERSONAL CHECK? WHEN YOU SEND THE NOTIFICATIONS DID YOU SEND THEN BY MAIL OR E-MAIL. IF BY E-MAIL THEY CAN DENIE RECEIVING THEM. IF YOU SENT THEM BY CERTIFIED MAIL,THEY SHOULD HAVE SIGN FOR THEM AND THATS YOUR PROOF THEY DID.ALSO DID YOU PRINT ALL YOUR E-MAIL TO CMB.ALSO PRINT REPLIES. THIS WILL HELP YOU NAIL THERE BUTTS TO THE WALL.
IN OTHER WORDS, DONT LET THEM USE THE EXCUSE OF "I NEVER RECEIVED IT" TYPE OF THING.IF YOU DONT HAVE COPIES OF YOUR E-MAILS TO CBM.CHECK WITH YOUR WEB SERVICE TO SEE IF THEY CAN PULL UP YOUR ACCOUNT AND FIND YOUR MESSAGES.
JUST TRYING TO HELP & NOT AGGRIVATE THEPROBLEM. GUESS I'LL HOLD ONTO MY CMB F-16N, LOOKS LIKE A COLLECTORS KIT RIGHT NOW.

I have kept track of everything. Thanks for the support. I should have just bit the bullet and got a Y/A F-16 since they are down the road from my office. But I thought it would be easier on my wallet and nerves going with the CBM F-16N to learn how to fly a low wing ACFT that has reasonable speed, and looks great. Live and learn. BTW still no response to the mail I sent this morning at 08:00 EST .

Stalker, I too have the CBM F16N and have had similar problems reaching them. Took me 3 months to get my missing parts.

As a last resort, I would recommend sending them a registered letter with a carbon copy to the BBB and the state attorney general for California and your home state. If no responce, then I would proceed with legal action.

For the guy trying to get parts from TGA, what do yo need? Let me know and I will contact them.

Steve has had eye surgery recently, and perhaps he has not been able to read his e-mail.

A few months ago I purchased the Top Gun F-15III and Steve could not be more helpful and prompt. He did in fact have eye surgery last week and is probably the reason for the delay. Be patient, they are a great outfit.

I forgot to mention my experience with Combat Models. Waited two years after pre-paying for the F-18 now it's been a year since I paid for the custom gear and still no gear. I just about fell out of my chair a few minutes ago however when I received an email from Combat Models saying the gear should ship in April.

Yeah, I think there might be some confusion between TGA and Combat Models. It's a shame that they're behaving like this. They used to be pretty good about customer service. I have a NIB F-18 from them that I'll sell for half price...

Missing landing gear

I am in the process of building a f16n and noticed that some of the landing gear to build the struts were missing. Just went to Ace Hardware and picked up the missing pieces. Hope this helps.
I was at miramar recently, i should have looked them up and driven to their place and see what this hoax of a company is all about!!! I have to admit, the plane has been fun to build.

The problem is I'm missing all the components to the landing gear. BTW after I sent them the e-mail explaining to them my plans I got a reply saying that they sent some of the stuff weeks ago and are putting in a claim for a lost package and they are waiting for the retracts to come in. Sure they are :rolleyes: .

Humm... They seem to like that line. I ordered some Carbon Veil from them to cover my DC F-20 and they pulled that with me. It seems that they don't have a reliable shipping service.. NOT. I waited for over a month for the veil and finally after threating to call my credit card company and logging a fraud complaint I got a response saying that the first one shipped a week prior. They could not provide me with a tracking number so I out of the goodness of their heart they shipped another, this time giving me a FedEx tracking number. They also specified if the first shippment arrived to refuse receipt of the package. Needless to say I only received one package.
I was going to build one of their F-18's but after that lousy service and all the complaints, I decided my next plane will be a real one. :cool:

Yep, I was interested in their F-18 and A-10 but after my problems and everyone else, I'm looking elseware.

Hi Stalker,

The parts that were not included in my kit were those aileron couplers (I think that's what they are called). They are used in constructing the gear (tiny, plastic, white in color). I was not able to find these pieces at other hobby stores, which is why I was forced to continue to 'pester' Combat. After about 2-3 months of being firm yet polite, I finally snailed-mailed them a pre-paid, self-addressed, priority mail envelope and low and behold, they sent me the parts! In the end I also regretted having bought this plane. These days, being slightly wiser, I know which companies are trustworthy and those are the ones I stick with.

Crap....I was gonna get one of the F-16's to learn some jet handling. I guess I will look elsewhere. At least I was forewarned.

I have not flown one but I have heard good things about the G&P Sales F18. It's a pusher prop just like the CBM F16N.

I waited almost 3 years to get the F-18 from CBM after threatning them, I finally received it. I pre-paid for the complete package. No gear and lots of missing items to complete the kit. It has been almost a year and I still have no gear. I emailed them a couple of days ago asking them to refund my money for the gear. They said they will ship next month. Dont hold your breath. I also stated that if you just tell the truth about parts and things, people are willing to wait. If you say it will ship next week and there is a problem with something for eg you did not get your parts from another manufacture to complete your kits to ship let the customer know. I can understand this, but lie and lie you just make customers angry. am I missing something is this such a hard concept to understand. How many of you would be happy to wait if you were told the truth?

I agree totally. Had the same issue with Rom Air, being constantly and unnecessarily lied to for about 7 months. If they had simply been upfront with me then I'd still be a customer.

I said so to Ron G. of Rom Air about a year ago, but he simply didn't get it.

Maybe lieing is just such a normal, everyday thing for some folk that they can't understand why anyone considers it wrong... ?

Nothing to do with CBM, but what can be done if an individual sells you a plane and rips you off?
