Fix paint on arrow on F18C
 

Gentlemen,

I am finally getting around to fixing the arrow on the bottom of my JL F18 and was wondering how to prep it.
Can I just use something like 400 grit sandpaper and rough it up or should I try to remove the existing paint and start from scratch.
Since I have very little knowledge when it comes to painting, I would really appreciate some advice.
