Hey guys,

I finished my gear doors last night. I think I made the mistake of glueing the fuselage hinges in place while the doors were closed. When I checked them after the glue set the doors would not move, I had to use a dremel thin cuting wheel and open up the door/fuse gap to about 1/16" now they swing freely, Oh well, Ill remember that for my next jet :). Although, I hope this gap does not affect the aircraft aerodynamically, I somehow don't think it will.

I am going to run my airlines today. I am thinking of a good method to fasten them down. Does plastic ring-type clamps glued to the inner walls sound ok? What are you guys using? [sm=72_72.gif]

Should I be zip tieing my fittings (tees and such)?

Should I face my air tanks to the front or rear of the aircraft?

Fix servo cable and air line with the self adhesive pads shown, should be available from a source nearer to your place as well......

Ive got a Home Depot, Lowes, and a few random hardware stores nearby maybe they'll have something similar.

Negative, you don't have to open up the gap between the door and the fuselage, they should seal perfectly. The reason that the door would not open is because at elast one of the hinges is preloading the door skin. When you glue the hinges, you glue them to the fuselage first, then you glue them to the doors with a thick bead of epoxy and you let them seat naturally where they want to seat on the door. You cannot force contact. ;)

Too bad you cut the skin already, that was an easy fix! :D

Damn, I had a feeling they should have been a perfect fit. Oh well, Like I said, Next time Ill get it right.

radio shack and fry's are other options. look in the electrical departments of home depot and lowes, lots of options there

If you are referring to securing the lines to the fittings, etc., don't use ty wraps, use safety wire.

Orientaion of the air tanks, makes no difference how they are mounted.
