BVM Mechanical retract size?
 

Anybody know how thick the BVM retracts are for the electra? I need to know how thick/thin of a wing I can build using these.

Also, does anybody have any experience with these? Any problems?

The gear frame is .835 thick. They work great, a bit tedious to set up but they are very reliable once setup.

They work fine. If you need a set email me. I will sell them for a good price. I think I have
two sets; one never used and one slightly used. I have no place to use them now.

Ive got them in my electra, As above i completely agree they are a real pain to set up.

As the electras wheels are in the wing not on the fuse, like they would be in models like the bobcat etc you need to connect the pushrods to the retract servo. Again a pain to do as there is preloading applied to ensure the retracts lock in the down position.

In use however they have been fine, i was initially reluctant to use mechanical retracts in a jet, but as the rest of it is electric I can now see the logic.

I do know of one other electra flyer who absolutely hates them, feels they make the model wobble from side to side, and ended up replacing his.
but Im sure he'll chip in:D

On the nose gear I slotted the hole that is to be used towards the servo spline as I felt it had too much throw.
I would consider doing the same on the main gear servo arm too.
